Svensk Lekgrupp at the SCC

The playgroup will focus on cultural development through use of every-day Swedish language, and
celebrations of Swedish holidays like Midsommar and Luciadagen. The group will meet on
Saturday mornings at 10:30 AM, beginning on September 17th.

Parents should attend with their children; children 3-5 are welcome to join the lekgrupp
separately while parents enjoy a fikapaus. Children 0-3 can join the group alongside their
parents, or participate in the fika. During this time we will host a guided discussion and Q&A for
parents about raising multilingual and multicultural children in the US.

Children will gain an understanding of the Swedish language as fun and useful to their every-day
lives. Parents will find a supportive community, and safe space to share ideas, or ask questions about
raising multilingual and multicultural children.
