Sara Pajunen is a musician and artist based in Minneapolis. After receiving classical music degrees in violin performance, she founded three touring ensembles based on her Finnish heritage. Pajunen’s new work is about finding similarities in difference: current duo Aallotar musically explores the reconnection of cultures grown apart, and developing solo work creates a communal climate to reflect on the universality of change. She has received grants from Jerome Foundation, MN State Arts Board, and is Finlandia Foundation’s Performer of the Year.
