Exhibit: Of Place and Memory by Irene Hastings
“When I was young my parents would take the family to West Island where my grandparents had a Cottage. I spent my days there playing in the warm sand, swimming in the ocean and exploring the island with all its coastal beauty, and I spent the evenings witnessing bright fiery sunsets. These paintings were made looking back on the times I spent there. They each pull memories and feelings from childhood through to the passing of my grandparents John and Ruth Elander in the early 2020’s.”
